All GP appointments are currently telephone in the first instance, the GP will then ask you to come in if necessary. This is to protect you from the risk of COVID-19. Most queries and conditions can be managed either via the telephone, or by video consultations.
If you have any health concerns or queries please give the surgery a call - we are open as normal.

When will I get my Covid -19 Vaccine
First Phase of COVID-19 Vaccination Programme
The Covid 19 vaccination programme is now underway. When it is your turn to have the vaccine the NHS will contact you. Please do not call the surgery.
The Practice is working in partnership with NHSE, the CCG and PCN to facilitate the structured roll out of the Covid Vaccine and will be mandated to follow guidance.
For now your understanding and patience is sought please.
The National Booking System is now live, and many of you will start to receive a letter from this national system (some of you will already have this!) inviting you to book your vaccine
We appreciate this is a very confusing time for most, and we want to reassure you that your local GP Practices have been commissioned to deliver this vaccination programme to you. We are operating a phased approach to vaccinate as many people as possible. Please be patient and we will contact you as soon as we can.
Here are your options to access the vaccine locally and support your GP Practice:
PLEASE BE AWARE- Booking your appointment via the national system (either online or via 119) will result in you being diverted to the next available appointment out of our area, requiring a significant amount of travel.
PLEASE call our local call centre on 01246 903 225 once you have received your national invite in order to book an appointment at a local site within Chesterfield & Dronfield PCN. All these sites are run by your local GP Practices so lots of friendly faces will be there to greet you! Our call centres are open Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm and we are working hard to provide a weekend service.
You may receive an invite via your GP practice before you receive a national letter. This invite will have instructions on how to book your local appointment.
If you have an appointment booked at a national site, please rest assured this appointment can be easily changed to a local site by calling 01246 903 225. This will hugely support your local GP Practice.
We can now accept calls from the following people:
- Invited by the national letter
- Invited through the GP practice due to being extremely clinically vulnerable
- People aged 69 and above
- Registered carers
- Frontline health and social care workers
Upon arrival at the vaccination site, you will be asked to provide evidence of your eligibility for your appointment. If you try to abuse the system, you will be turned away. Abuse to volunteer marshalls or staff will not be tolerated.

** OVER 50s FLU **
You will no doubt have heard in the media this morning, that those aged 50-64 will be able to receive a flu vaccine from 1/12/20. General practices are learning this information at the same time as you. Practices are doing all they can to prepare and source vaccines, they will be in contact with patients as soon as they are able.
In the meantime please do not contact your surgery about flu vaccines if you are in this group until you are asked to do so.

Patient prescriptions will be sent directly to your nominated chemist whenever possible from 16th March 2020.
Please be aware we are working with depleted staffing levels and it may take longer to answer the phones. Please be patient and kind to staff. They are working hard to keep providing a service for patients in very challenging circumstances.
The Prescription Medicines Order Line has introduced an e-mail system. This will allow patients to email the MOL to request a call back, preventing patients being held in long queues. To find out how to do this visit www.derbyandderbyshireccg.nhs.uk

Last year the practice began work on major changes to Avenue House Surgery building. Unfortunately, the car park will be closed to patients for the duration of the project.
We realise this is not ideal and will cause inconvenience for our patients and we do apologise for this.

Important Patient Information - (currently suspended)
We now have evening and weekend appointments available at our Avenue House site. This is part of a new extended access scheme.
Details regarding these appointments are available from the reception team.
The new clinic times are 6.30pm-8pm Monday to Friday
and 8am-12midday at weekends.
